At an early stage sometimes the vision of a single founder may represent a more coherent whole, than would be possible with a team. In the same way, works of art typically benefit from a single coherent vision.

As organizations evolve and grow however, collaboration becomes essential. Very few founders survive the transition to a large, publicly-traded company. Often it is difficult for a successful founder to let go.
